It took just minutes for the spoof website to be set up.Moments after US presidential hopeful Joe Biden had directed voters to a campaign site that did not exist during Wednesday’s Democrat leadership debate, some wag had grabbed the URL and set up a fake – in support of rival Pete Buttigieg.Mr Biden’s gaffe – in which he told viewers to “go to Joe30330” rather than “text JOE to 30330” – was seen by many to raise serious questions about the 76-year-old’s understanding of digital technology.But, for others, it was a starting gun on an online race to buy the domain name cited by the former vice-president.Josh Fayer, a 21-year-old public relations student at Syracuse University in New York, said he had just stopped watching the debate when a friend texted to say he had managed to grab the rights to Joe30330.The pair decided to redirect it to Mr Fayer’s parody presidential campaign site “Josh for America”, which he had launched as an April Fool’s joke this year.The site introduces him as “the first Gen Z’er to declare candidacy for this office” and includes a video that stated his platform of “no homework in college”.He told the Reuters news agency: “I don’t have any broader ambitions for a fake exploratory committee. I didn’t file any of the paperwork.”He initially said he did not want to endorse any presidential candidate but, by Thursday morning, the site’s donate button sent visitors to a page inviting them to contribute to the campaign of “our good friend Pete Buttigieg”.The campaign for Mr Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.A spokesman for Mr Biden campaign also declined to comment.

U.S. Navy Super Hornet Jet Crashes Near Death Valley, Injuring 7. Pilot Still Missing

The U.S. Navy is conducting a search-and-rescue operation for the pilot of an F/A-18E Super Hornet jet that crashed near Death Valley on Wednesday, injuring seven.The pilot was flying in “Star Wars” Canyon, a chasm in Death Valley National Park where tourists go to observe aviation training exercises, according to park officials, CNN reported.“The cause of the crash is currently under investigation,” Lt. Dubai sheikh posts cryptic poem as wife Princess Haya attends court for start of custody battle

The ruler of Dubai published an online poem about “shining swords with sharp blades” on the day his estranged wife asked a British judge to make an arranged marriage protection order.  The billionaire Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, 70, posted a verse online called “Swords of the Excellencies” as Princess Haya attended the High Courts of Justice in London for the start of their bitter legal battle over their two children She was seen in public for the first time on Tuesday after fleeing United Arab Emirates (UAE) with the youngsters earlier this year while apparently “in fear for her life”. The vice-president and prime minister of the UAE has applied to the British courts for the “summary return” of his two children from Britain. On Tuesday afternoon - the first day of the preliminary hearing - Sir Andrew McFarlane, president of the Family Courts Division, allowed the media to report how the princess was applying for a “forced marriage protection order.”  The 45-year-old Jordanian princess is also asking seeking a non-molestation order, it emerged. As those details became public triggering headlines around the world, the sheikh, a self-proclaimed poet, posted his latest poem. I don’t care if you live or die.” However, in the latest poem released on Tuesday, it has locally been interpreted as an ode to the UAE’s Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, or MBZ as he is known in the region. “He (his Excellency) has shining swords with sharp blades. In their sheaths, they can cut if drawn,” he wrote on his official Instagram page. “For confronting and keeping away the enemies, he has many soldiers. He has protected heroes so that nobody will conspire against them.” In Arabic, he appears to be speaking figuratively but it could be viewed as a veiled threat, possibly to regional enemies such as Iran or Qatar, with whom the UAE has had strained relations in recent years. Sheikh Maktoum suggests the UAE has not shown its true power and asks what would happen if this sword were ever to be used. The sheikh, thought to have more than 20 children by six wives, is known regularly to write poetry. It is not known why she left, but speculation has focused on how two of the sheikh’s children - Princess Shamsa and Princess Latifa - had tried unsuccessfully to flee the emirate. Full details about the orders applied for and the identities of the children discussed in the two-day preliminary hearing, which ended yesterday, cannot be reported for legal reasons.  The trial is due to start properly in November.

Hearing date set in fight over Trump's New York tax returns

U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols in Washington said the hearing later this month would focus on whether he has jurisdiction over New York officials named as defendants in Trump's lawsuit. Nichols said the New York officials should not comply with a request by the House Ways and Means Committee for the tax information until he has had a chance to rule on the jurisdictional issues. In a July 23 complaint, Trump’s lawyers argued New York state violated his constitutional rights with a law passed this month that would give the committee access to the president’s state tax returns.
